...more about us...
Yes, we are part of a church. You are probably now thinking “church…dull as dishwater, pointy roofs, terrible music and listening to sermons that are as interesting as Mr Darling’s annual budget report!"Sadly, for lots or people, Christians included, that's precisely what the word "church" means. Fortunately that's not what it is. The Bible talks about the church as a family, a body, a group of people who believe in and follow Jesus Christ.
Church isn't a place, it's people.
And so is YF.
Young people.
Young Christians.
So YF is just church for young people in the same way nursery is school for kids who aren’t old enough, right?Young Christians.
Yes and no.
(clear as mud this website!)
So YF is and isn’t like church?
YF is like church in that we are a family, a body, a group of young people who believe and follow Jesus Christ. We also meet together every Sunday just like church. We sing songs just like church. We read the bible just like church. We do charity work just like church.
(Sounds to me as though it’s just church.)
Well, unlike church we do some other stuff. We go laser-questing, to the cinema, weekends away and other times we just hang out.
In a nutshell then:
YF is a lot like church but with a youthful twist.
